In this project, Filipino migrant workers in Taiwan were invited as Taipei tour guides, taking artists and onlookers on an excursion of their recreational sites during the weekend. Through this performance, Barroso delves into the daily lives of Filipino migrants with the identity of an artist heralding from Spain, temporarily blurring the living boundaries of different ethnic groups within the city. At the same time, this meander into urban space becomes a method to trace back into the history of Spain’s colonization of Asia, investigating the transnational migrations of people caused by colonialism, and furthermore how they underwent the changing of times, forming into the contemporary cultural landscape of the urban city and its inhabitants.

En esta pieza se invitó a trabajadores migrantes filipinos que viven en Taiwán a que actuaran como guías turísticos de Taipei, llevando a la artista y a los espectadores través de una excursión por los sitios recreativos de su comunidad. A través de esta actuación, Barroso se adentra en la vida cotidiana de los filipinos migrantes con la identidad de un artista española, difuminando temporalmente las fronteras vivas de diferentes etnias dentro de la ciudad. Al mismo tiempo, este deambular por el espacio urbano se convierte en un método para rastrear la historia de la colonización española de Asia, investigando las migraciones transnacionales de personas provocadas por el colonialismo a través del tiempo, configurándose en el paisaje cultural contemporáneo de la ciudad urbana y sus habitantes.
