The Holobiont That Therefore I Am
2022. Site-specific video installation using three different 16 mm scanned to HD films

Using The animal that thefore I am by Derrida to articulate how to open an actual dialogue on the basis of a mode of being-with, otherness and agency, the installation is part of a reflection process on the topics of a research on coexistence, more-than-human worlds and politics of care.
In the work Botanical dream, shot in a botanical garden, where we witness a dream, but we are not sure whose dream it is. Maybe the plants of the garden are dreaming of transforming, trespassing those glass walls, and becoming a rainforest?
In The way my mother talked to plants the artist has filmed her mother at home and with friends, (those being human and non-human), to reflect on care between human and nature.
The Knots We Knot is a film that emerged from a collaboration with filmmaker Adriana Vila Guevara in the Vall de Santa Creu. Both artists, decide to spend a few days in the valley exploring their interests, and the environment, human, animal, plant and lichen that surrounds them, interacting with it through a 16 mm camera and a sound recorder, and accompanied by readings by Donna Haraway, Robin W. Kimmerer and María Puig de la Bellacasa among others authors.
Usando como referencia The animal that therefore I am de Derrida para preguntarse cómo abrir un diálogo real a partir de modos de ser-con, alteridad y agencia, la instalación forma parte de un proceso de reflexión sobre los temas de una investigación sobre la convivencia, los mundos más-que-humanos y las políticas del cuidado.
En la obra Botanical dream, rodada en un jardín botánico, asistimos a un sueño, pero no estamos seguros de quién es. ¿Quizá las plantas del jardín sueñan con transformarse, traspasar esas paredes de cristal y convertirse en una selva tropical?
En The way my mother talked to plants la artista ha filmado a su madre en casa y con amigos, (siendo éstos humanos y no humanos), para reflexionar sobre los cuidados entre los seres humanos y la naturaleza.
The Knots We Knot es una película surgida a través de una colaboración con la cineasta Adriana Vila Guevara en una mini residencia en la Vall de Santa Creu. Ambas artistas deciden pasar unos días en el valle explorando sus intereses, y el entorno, humano, animal, vegetal, y liquen que las rodea, interactuando con él a través de una cámara Bólex de 16 mm y una grabadora de sonido, y acompañadas de las lecturas de Donna Haraway, Robin W. Kimmerer y María Puig de la Bellacasa entre otras autoras.
